Eyelid surgery

Dr. Alia Nasser has attended a special eye rejuvenation course in New Jersey, run by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and now performs eyelid reductions using the clinic’s carbon dioxide laser. Treatment of the upper lid to reduce the skin and decrease the heaviness of the lid takes about 80 minutes and is performed under gentle sedation and local anaesthesia. It can be the simplest way to take 5 years off your looks and is sometimes covered by Medicare and the Medicare Safety Net.

Every Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Meaghan Heckenberg consults for all cosmetic procedures at the Newcastle rooms. Dr Meaghan Heckenberg was one of the Alia Clinic’s first regsitrars from the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and has worked in Newcastle for many years. New Ultrasound

It is hard to believe that ultrasound has come such a long way since it was first used diagnostically about 30 years ago. The rate of progress seems to show no sign of slowing and Dr. Owen Roberts and Janet Roberts ( the clinic sonographer ) have just purchased the latest in ultrasound technology to improve their phlebology ( varicose vein ) services. This new state-of –the-art technology provides better definition and the multi-frequency transducer can illuminate veins at various depths below the skin instantly. The result even more comprehenvive  treatments giving better long term results for both big veins and small veins. All this with no surgery and no need to wait in long public hospital queues.

"THE ALIA CLINIC LIFT"

Sometimes liposculpture to the neck and threadlifts aren’t enough. Moderate to marked skin looseness and excess in the lower two thirds of the face can be improved dramatically with the “ALIA CLINIC LIFT”. The Alia clinic lift requires a short incision in front of the ear. The tissue beneath the skin is elevated and tightened allowing re-draping of the skin to reduce skin looseness and improve the neck. Dr. Goyen studied facelift surgery with world expert Dr. Joe Niamtu in Ricmond Virginia early in 2009 and has adapted these surgeries and the work of other pioneers to develop this technique. It even works on very loose neck skin if an added “ALIA CLINIC PLUS LIFT “ is used.

Eyelid rejuvenation

Thin wrinkled skin beneath the eye is a tell-tale sign of aging. Reducing or eliminating this crepey skin is the goal of laser resurfacing to the lower eyelids. At the Alia Clinic we use the Sciton dual pulse width Erbium laser  to reduce skin volume, strengthening the skin and reduc  wrinkles without prolonged redness or scarring.
