Microlaser Peel
Over time the effects of aging in the skin begin to show on every
face. Skin becomes thinner, spots and wrinkles appear and scarring can
occur. Just how do you reverse some of these problems and do it in a
safe and time-efficient way, so necessary for the 21st century ?
Advances in laser technology have now made available a Microlaser
peel a great option for people who want significant improvements to
their skin with the minimum in down time.
The concept of the Micro-Laser Peel was introduced by Dr. Mitchell
Goldman from La Jolla, San Diego. Dr. Goldman, a world expert on laser
re-surfacing realised that while traditional laser re-surfacing can do
more, a microlaser peel can do a lot to improve the skin with less than
half the downtime. Some people repeat the peel every six months or so to
maintain and improve their skin.
At the Alia Clinic, a Microlaser peel is performed with the clinicıs
erbium laser the Derma-K. This laser takes off about 50 microns of skin
(five times as much as dermabrasion), reducing the effects of sundamage
by removing aged skin.
Fine wrinkles, acne scars, keratoses, superficial skin pigment
problems and mild skin laxity can all be helped with this therapy.
A Micro-Laser peel is different to traditional skin re-surfacing. For
one thing, it is done after the application of local anaesthetic cream
alone, no injections are usually necessary. Patients heal in a fraction
of the time. There is less skin oozing and much less post-operative
swelling.
Typically a patient can expect 3 days of redness and in most cases,
people are back to work and normal in 5 days. Have the procedure on
Thursday and back to work on Monday.
