Longer Looking Legs
Many women turn to liposculpture to not only reduce problem areas,
but also to change their shape. With modern liposculpture techniques a
problem area can not only be reduced, but in some cases it can be
entirely eliminated. Look at the legs below. Their shape has changed
completely as the saddlebag area has not only been reduced, but totally
removed.
The overall effect is that the leg now looks longer as it appears to
start much higher, probably about 10-12 centimetres higher than before
the procedure.
Visually, the leg appears more straight up and down, finer. Most
women report being able to wear a greater variety of clothes without any
alteration and feel happier about wearing swimming costumes and bikinis.
Example
Visually, the leg appears more straight
up and down, finer as well as being less bulky.
Example
This effect can be achieved even if the
saddlebag deformity is quite large, the important thing is that the area
is treated so that the maximum amount of fatty material is removed. This
ensures that the area treated is either almost or completely flat.
Examples
Often some of the most dramatic shape changes can occur if even a
small amount is removed. It is the shape created by removing the bump
which is important as this alters the outline of the leg, again looking
longer, thinner and finer.
Great volume reductions are also possible and can completely change
the look of the areas from the hips to the thighs. At least a size has
been reduced from the areas in this case.
Example
It is important to remember though, that often other areas may
require treatment as well to achieve the best result. Here, it would be
impossible to remove enough from the outer thighs and make the legs look
longer without treating the hips as well, or the hips would certainly
protrude. A total of 2500ml was removed in this case.

Common questions about liposculpture to
make legs appear longer
Who is a candidate for this procedure ?
Usually women suitable for this procedure would have a definite
saddlebag formation and a bulge in the outer thighs due to fatty
material alone. Sometimes the underlying bone can interfere preventing
or limiting this straighter look. Whether this can be achieved or not is
best assessed at a consultation.
Is it permanent ?
Yes, the reduction in the the areas will be permanent improvement in
the shape of the leg and outline of the body, provided that your weight
remains stable after the procedure.
Are there any scars or changes to sensation?
The small access holes are 1-2mm wide. They are not sutured after the
procedure and essentially are invisible after a couple of weeks. As all
the instruments used in this surgery are quite blunt, there is generally
no change to how the legs feel after the first few weeks. There will be
some bruising for two to three weeks, so if you are planning a holiday
it is important to leave enough time for this to settle.
What support garments are required ?
A special lycra bodysuit compressive garment is used for two weeks or
so after the procedure.
How long does the procedure take ?
Most procedures take from between 2 to 2 1/2 hours to complete.
How much time will I need off...?
In general you should plan on taking 1-2 days off work or slightly
longer if your work is active. It would be about 3 weeks before normal
gym activities or jogging should be restarted.
And the cost ?
The cost of this procedure varies according to the areas that require
treatment and whether the area is treated alone or in conjunction with
other areas. (This is most common.) For an accurate costing, please use
the online consultation or make an appointment by phoning (02)
99061555.
