Larger Figures
In general, liposculpture is often seen as a way of helping people
with local collections of fatty tissue to improve their shape. Usually
this means removal of up to 2 litres and the aesthetic objectives of the
liposculpture are achieved. For some people though this is not enough
and especially if multiple areas are treated, more than two or even
three litres need to be removed for the optimal effect. Often the
results can be dramatic.
Example
In this situation two procedures were required and a total of 6
litres removed from the abdomen, hips , waist, buttocks and thighs. The
dress size has reduced from 16 to 12.
Example
As well as the reduction in size, the bumps over the hips and outer
thighs have been removed to give a much more even outline.
Example
Severe asymmetries of shape are more likely in larger frames as well.
Clearly the right hand side is much larger than the left, and in fact, a
litre more was removed from the right side, during the single procedure.
( A total of 4 1/2 litres was removed). The end result is a reduction in
dress size from 20 to 14 and a much more regular and less bulky outline.

Common questions about abdominal
liposculpture in larger figures
Which people with larger frames are candidates for liposculpture ?
Often women know that they have considerable localised problems as
diets in the past have made very minimal in-roads to problem areas and
often this causes an excessive reduction in breast volume and an
unwanted thin appearance to the face. More than 2 dress size difference
between the top of the body and the hips and buttock areas can also
indicate that liposculpture rather than dieting may be of benefit.
Is it permanent ?
Yes, the reduction in the areas treated is permanent, provided that
your weight remains stable no more than a weight gain of a few kilos
after the procedure.
Are there any scars or changes to sensation?
The small access holes are 1-2mm wide. They are not sutured after the
procedure and essentially are invisible after a couple of weeks. As all
the instruments used in this surgery are quite blunt, there is generally
no change to how the abdomen feels after the first few weeks.
What support garments are required ?
A special lycra bodysuit compressive chest garment is used for two
weeks or so after the procedure.
How long does the procedure take ?
Most procedures similar to the above examples take from between 2 to
2 1/2 hours to complete. Occasionally, a second procedure will be
necessary.
How much time will I need off...?
In general you should plan on taking 1-2 days off work or slightly
longer if your work is active. It would be about 3 weeks before normal
gym activities or jogging should be restarted.
And the cost ?
The cost of this procedure varies according to the areas that require
treatment and whether one or two procedures are necessary. For an
accurate costing, please use the online
consultation or make an appointment by phoning (02) 99061555.
