Hands and Neck
Try a simple test. Have a look at the back of your hands. Which one has more blemishes. If you live in Australia, it will be your right. Why? As you drive the right gets more sun exposure. Simple, Sun damage is the prime cause of skin aging in the hands and neck. Both the sun and age thin the skin, and make it wrinkly and blotchy. Age contributes to the loss of tissue, sucking skin close to tendons and veins.

All of this can be reversed. Here's how.
1. Skin blotches
Lentigos are the commonest. These are the flat brown irregular spots that occur over the face as well as the hands. These are markedly decreased by a few sessions of BBL or broad band light. 2-3 sessions are usually required. This is an easy treatment with no downtime. Phone the clinic for more information.
2. Skin thinness
Thin skin looks unhealthy. That is because the skin is carrying the baggage of the years. Removing thin skin and replacing it with healthier skin can be achieved with the use of Pro-fractional laser. The Alia Clinic has had great success in improving skin texture and thickness using the Pro-Fractional laser. Two to four treatments are usually required.
3. Loss of Volume
Both fillers and fat transfers are great help here. The tendons at the back of the hand become more prominent with age. Reversing this is as simple as introducing the appropriate material delicately between the tendons. It takes about 30 minutes.
The neck is a similar. Irregular pigmentation on the neck can be treated with BBL. Horizontal neck lines respond well to fillers. Vertical neck bands can be improved with wrinkle injections, but may need more extensive surgical options to achieve a good long-term result. |
